December 28, 2005: The sign is up! The Needleworks sign is now up and you can easily find us at the south west corner of 14th Street and Northmount Drive. Don't forget our OFFICIAL GRAND OPENING on January 2nd, 2006. Hope to see you then.
December 12, 2005: Wow, Christmas came early! More new fabrics have just arrived. We have just received lots of bolts of quilting cottons including a few more batiks. FQ are available. I am working very hard to get the complete class schedule ready for the newsletter on Thursday. I think all the "i"s are dotted and the "t"s crossed....so it should go to the printer soon. As I get each class organized I will post the supply list on the web. That way you can easily and quickly see what is in store for you when you register for a class.
December 5, 2005: New Fabrics are in!!!! My latest order of fabrics has arrived....New in are a dozen assorted batiks. They are beautiful and more will come in as time goes by. I also received more homespun plaids. When I originally priced them, they were $15.99 a meter, but somehow I made an error and they have all been re-priced to $10.99 a meter. Canamist is a poly/cotton outer wear fabric that goes well with a fleece lining for water resistance and warmth. This fabric would also make great rain pants. I'll be cutting into some this week for a sample jacket....that will be for my son-in-law for Christmas. I have also placed an order for batting and a variety of interfacings including Fast-2-Fuse.
Dates have been set for a Free Motion Quilting Class. Check the Classes page for more information.
Announcing Open Workshop at NeedleworksFrom now until December 23rd, the classroom at Needleworks is available for anyone to come and use our space. 759 Northmount Drive NW Advantages!!!!
The space is available anytime the store is open and some evenings as well. Call for exact times or more information: 210-2883
November 26, 2005: A customer was in today who didn't want a specific class, but wanted help with some sewing projects. So this has prompted a drop in program that will run anytime we don't have a formal class in the store. For a nominal fee of $4 per hour (GST included). Set up in the classroom and we'll help you with your project as needed. This is great if you want a day or evening to sew with no distractions. So, with Christmas on its way, this would be the perfect opportunity to make use of our space and get some Christmas projects done.
November 23, 2005: A few class changes. Call the store for full details.
November 18, 2005: Just in!!!! The KiwkSew pattern cabinet has arrived. We should have it in place by noon tomorrow and my trusty helper (#1 daughter) will have the patterns in the cabinet in a very short time. As far as I know, we are the only store to carry the full line of KwikSew patterns. So, if you have been going through withdrawal with the closing of Fanny's Fabrics, you can now find your favorite patterns here.
